Charitable Dispensary
Responding to the urgent medical and health needs of the poor, the Ashrama started a Charitable Dispensary in a small ramshackle room. It became famous as ‘Baba ka hospital’ – Hospital of the sadhus. The poor and sick gravitated towards it and it became known throughout the locality that the dispensary was the best place to avail quality medical attention at nominal charges.
The Ashrama has Allopathy as well as Homeopathy sections. Specialists in Orthopaedic, Ophthalmology, E.N.T., Gynaecology, Dental, Paediatric, Psychiatry,besides General Physicians offer free services regularly. A well-equipped Physiotherapy Unit, Pathology Laboratory, and X-Ray Unit are attached to the Dispensary. ECG investigations are carried out by Technicians and Doctors.
Medical Camps In & Around Kanpur
Mobile Medical Units go to rural areas often and conduct camps in General Health and Eye check-up. Teams consisting of doctors, staff and volunteers visit these camps, diagnose, give health-related counselling and free medicine to the poor and the needy. Cases requiring further attention are directed to our Ashrama Dispensary for follow-up.
